Open Source Software, is software for which the
underlying programming code is available to the
users, so that they may read it, make changes to
it, and build new versions of the software, incorporating
their changes. There are many types of Open Source
Software, mainly differing in the licensing term
under which (altered) copies of the source code
may (or must be) redistributed.
Opt-in Email
Opt-in email is where someone voluntarily submits
their email to join a list and gives permission
for the list owner to send ezines, or commercial
messages to them. However some list owners sell
their lists through reputable brokers. In these
circumstances there is usually a tick box on the
opt-in form, giving the list owner permission to
sell their name to other companies.
This is the online equivalent to buying a mailing
list from a normal list broker. The only difference
is that you are sending an email message instead
of a mailing piece. This means that you have no
printing or mailing costs. The only cost is for
the email address, which is around 15p - 20p each,
and includes broadcasting your message. This method
can generate response rates of 5% - 15%.

also offer solo mailings, where your sales message
will go out as a special edition of their ezine.
