FAQ
-- (Frequently Asked Questions)
FAQs are documents that list and answer the most
common questions on a particular subject. There
are hundreds of FAQs on subjects as diverse as Pet
Grooming and Cryptography. FAQs are usually written
by people who have tired of answering the same question
over and over.

Finger
An Internet software tool for locating people on
other Internet sites. Finger is also sometimes used
to give access to non-personal information, but
the most common use is to see if a person has an
account at a particular Internet site. Many sites
do not allow incoming Finger requests, but many
do.
Fire
Wall
A combination of hardware and software that separates
a Network into two or more parts for security purposes.
Flash
This is by far the most popular multi-media technology
available today. One of the
reasons for this is pre-installed on most modern
browsers. It therefore accounts for 90% of the market,
e.g. 90% of web surfers already have the Flash plug-in
installed on their browser, so no download is necessary.
Another reason why it is so popular, is that it
is able to compress animations into extremely small
files that look very impressive. It is different
to other multimedia technologies in that a whole
web site can be created using Flash, instead of
html, and the effects can be amazing. The latest
version of Flash integrates streaming media.
FTP
File transfer protocol is one of the most basic
ways of transferring information over the Internet.
Full
Flash Entry Page Presentation
A full entry page presentation gives maximum opportunity
to get your clients message across and create real
impact. It allows a full advertising message, stressing
the benefits of their company's products and services,
to be presented in a dynamic multimedia presentation.
This can incorporate sound, images, animation, music,
text, voiceovers, music and even video. All these
are put together in a very dynamic way, that when
used correctly is probably one of the
most effective advertising formats ever created.
So if your client wants to truly maximise their
company's corporate or product message - this is
the ideal way to do it. Our highly talented designers
will take the brief and turn it into something that
will truly astound them.
Flash Presentation or Microsite
A flash presentation
or microsite is one of the most effective marketing
tools you can use on your site. This harnesses the
full multimedia capabilities of flash and can include
sound, images, animation, music, text, voiceovers,
music and even video. This provides the ability
to deliver an incredibly dynamic and impressive
presentation of your company, products or services
that cannot be achieved in any other way. This is
a far larger presentation than would be shown on
the entry page allowing more information to be provided.
Typically it is linked to your site through an icon
or button advertising the tour or presentation.
When the user clicks on this, a new window will
open and the viewer will be presented with a series
of screens each focussing on a different benefit
or feature. The user can interact with the presentation,
clicking to go onto the next screen or making choices
about what aspects they want further information
on. The set-up includes the interface design to
create a consistent and user-friendly navigation
system to present the flash content in the most
effective way. In addition to the interface, you
will have the interactive screens which provide
the content and main presentation. Usually a presentation
of this sort will consist of around 10 screens.
Full Flash base Site
For true online impact, a full flash based version
of your site cannot be beaten.
Typically you would have an entry page giving the
viewer an option of a standard html site or the
full flash based site. Alternatively a special script
can be used to detect whether the browser has flash
installed, what connection speed they are using
and what server, for the most appropriate version.
The full flash based site requires a lot of skilled
work and can be very time consuming. This shouldn't
be confused with a html site containing flash animations.
Here we are talking about a complete flash based
site which offers huge advantages in what can be
done over its html equivalent. The first stage,
just like any site is to develop the user interface.
This serves the same purpose as the interface for
a static site e.g. to provide a consistent look
and feel, and present the main content in the most
effective and attractive manner, while giving excellent
usability and navigation. So a considerable time
needs to be spent on this area for a truly effective
flash site. Once the interface has been created,
then our skilled developers will create the rest
of the flash based site in a way that makes maximum
use of the interactive nature of flash - to create
a truly inspirational site.
